Nominate your sporting stars and unsung heroes for the Lancashire Sports Awards

Now is the time for you to nominate your local sporting heroes for a prestigious accolade.

The Lancashire Sports Awards are a celebration of local sporting achievement. These pay tribute to those, young and old, who show dedication to perform at the highest level or those who work tirelessly to support individuals or clubs week in, week out, for the love of sport.

West Lancashire Borough Council is inviting local clubs, individuals and schools to put forward their nominations for the following categories:

  • Coach of the Year
  • Young volunteer of the Year
  • Adult volunteer of the Year
  • Community Club of the Year
  • Primary School of the Year
  • Secondary School of the Year
  • Young Achiever of the Year
  • Service to Disability Sport Award
  • Lifetime Achievement Award

Councillor Yvonne Gagen, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “West Lancashire has sporting heroes who compete or give up their time to help others compete. They deserve recognition for their efforts, so please send us your nominations.”
Nominees must come from or represent the West Lancashire area. Successful nominees will be invited to represent the borough at the Lancashire Sports Awards, where the overall regional winners will be crowned.

Closing date for West Lancashire nominations is Friday 29 July 2015. The local winners of each category are automatically put forward to represent West Lancashire at the Lancashire Sports Awards on Friday 25 November at The Hilton Hotel, Blackpool.
