Marvellous free musical entertainment in Coronation Park, Ormskirk

An exciting variety of bands are all part of the great line up for the fantastic free Summer Music Festival in Coronation Park, Ormskirk.

Groups playing music ranging from Pop and Merseybeat to Blues and Two Tone will be performing at the bandstand on Saturday afternoons, while local brass bands take centre stage on Sundays. All concerts are free and take place between 2pm and 4pm. Limited seating will be available to enable people to sit down, relax and enjoy the music.

Councillor Yvonne Gagen, West Lancashire Borough Council portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “Listening to live music is a great way to spend a summer afternoon, particularly when you can do it in lovely surroundings like Coronation Park, so come along and enjoy the free concerts.”

The Saturday line up of bands is as follows:

  • 29 July: Wayne Carrick Band (pop, rock and blues covers band)
  • 5 August: Searching (Merseybeat sound from the 60s)
  • 12 August: Ukes At The Wharf (local ukulele band)
  • 19 August: The Extras (British rhythm and blues)
  • 26 August: George’s Big Shed (straight from Shedbeat Studios, rock, pop and blues originals from the power trio)

 The confirmed Sunday line up is as follows:

  • 30 July: Flixton Brass Band
  • 6 August: Greenalls Band
  • 13 August: Skelmersdale Prize Band
  • 20 August: Trinity Girls Brass Band

Separate arrangements are being made for musical entertainment for Sunday 27 August, the day of the Ormskirk MotorFest. More details will be announced soon.
