Exciting new events at the Chapel Gallery
A West Lancashire artist who created a collection of handmade Christmas decorations to go on sale at the world famous Harrods store is having a showcase at the Chapel Gallery.
Kayleigh Radcliffe, from Mere Brow, reinterprets traditional and vintage themes and demonstrates a great love of animals, re-imagining them as witty and whimsical characters.
Her illustrations, jewellery and 3D pieces are highly collectable and very reasonably priced. Harrods was so impressed with her collection that they have re commissioned her for this year’s festive season.
Her showcase at the Chapel Gallery begins on Wednesday 22 April and will be on display until 13 June 2015.
The gallery’s Fine Print exhibition starts on Saturday 2 May with some really fun family-friendly activities from 10am. Children and their parents can create a new creature by drawing different body parts. Work with artist Matt Roby to see what strange creatures you can conjure up. The sessions are free but you need to book.
The exhibition continues until Saturday 27 June, and works on display will explore the multifaceted medium of print art and the diverse range of techniques and processes. Anyone interested in a guided tour of the exhibition or to book on the family workshop with Matt Roby should contact the gallery on 01695 571328 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Exhibiting artists are: John Angus, Tracy Hill, Barbara Jones, Irene Jones, Simon Manby, Martha Otway, Kathryn Poole, Anthony Radcliffe, Christine Southworth, Magda Stawarska-Bevan and Teresa Taylor.
