Extra markets this Christmas
There will be plenty of Christmas cheer on the streets of Ormskirk with extra market days to give shoppers even more chances to buy Christmas presents.
In the run up to Christmas additional markets will take place so that there will be a market on every day from Wednesday 18 December through to Saturday 21 December, as well as a further one on Monday 23 December.
There will be no market on Thursday 26 December, but stalls will be back again on Saturday 28 December.
On each day it is open the market will operate from 8am-4.30pm.
And from Saturday 7 December shoppers can save money when using the Council’s car parks. Visitors who buy a pay and display ticket will receive an additional two hours free parking.
This special offer applies only to Council-controlled pay and display car parks. So users or motorists should ensure they read car park signage.
Councillor Martin Forshaw, portfolio holder for Planning and Development, said: “With the parking offers and extra markets Ormskirk is a great place to come this festive season. So make sure you come into town to do your Christmas shopping.”
Motorists should note that the two extra free hours will not be shown on the pay and display parking ticket purchased from a machine on a Council-controlled car park. So, for example, if you buy a ticket at 10am for one hour's parking the ticket will still show an expiry time of 11am. But, during the special offer period, you will be able to park until 1pm.
Notices explaining the offer will be on display at the Council-controlled car parks. All car park attendants are aware of the offer and will allow for the extra two hours after the indicated ticket expiry time.
This offer does not apply to car parks not controlled by the Council.
