Children can help our feathered friends survive the cold weather
Children can enjoy half term fun and learn ways to help feed our feathered friends at three exciting ‘Feed the birds’ events in West Lancashire parks.
West Lancashire Borough Council rangers will reveal simple and fun ways to transform items you would normally throw away into fantastic feeders to help birds find food in gardens during the cold weather.
The first event takes place at Coronation Park, Ormskirk on Monday, 16 February, starting at 1pm. People attending should meet at the Bowling Pavilion at Coronation Park.
Richmond Park hosts the next one on Tuesday 17 February, starting at 1pm at the bowling pavilion. Stanley Coronation Park is the venue for the final event on Wednesday 18 February. Meet at the bowling pavilion at 10am.
Children aged 12 years and under who come along will require adult supervision. For more information on the rangers please visit rangers.
Councillor David Sudworth, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “All these events take place during the half term holidays and will be very enjoyable for children. So join the fun and make a feeder to help our feathered friends.”
Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for the weather and ground conditions.
