Ormskirk town centre car parks to be re-surfaced
Improvement works to West Lancashire Borough Council car parks in Ormskirk town centre will begin in February 2015.
Works are programmed to start the week beginning Monday 9 February and should take approximately two months to complete.
The improvements will be carried out at the following car parks:
- Hants Lane
- The Stiles, Derby Street West
- Hutton Way, off Park Road
- Market Way, off Moorgate
- Park Road (to the rear of Tesco)
The improvements will see these car parks re-surfaced, with new lining for spaces put down. Car park signage will also be replaced on all Borough Council car parks in Ormskirk town centre.
Councillor David Griffiths, portfolio holder for Town and Village Centres, said: “Money raised from parking charges helps the Council maintain and improve its car parks. I am really pleased that these works are taking place to maintain and improve the parking facilities in Ormskirk. These measures along with the recently-approved changes to parking arrangements on our car parks will ensure they are in the best condition for shoppers and visitors, which in turn will benefit local businesses.”
During the course of the works it will be necessary at times to close individual car parks for a short period in order that the surfacing and lining element of the works can take place. Appropriate signage will be in place in advance of these times to advise car park users.
Parking charges will not increase as a result of the works. For more information on car parks in Ormskirk town centre please visit parking in Ormskirk.
