Parks and countryside events
You can find out all about our exciting events taking place in West Lancashire in our free Parks and Countryside Events 2014 booklet.
Our 2014 Events Programme is jam-packed with events and activities for all to enjoy.
These start with the Big Garden Birdwatch on Saturday 25 January at 1pm, when visitors can meet the park ranger, brush up on their bird identification skills and follow a bird-themed trail.
Event Highlights this year include the :Ormskirk Medieval Weekend in Coronation Park on 17 May and 18 May; The Green Fayre at Beacon Country Park on 19 and 20 July; Ormskirk MotorFest on 24 August; and the Halloween Extravaganza.
In addition, we have Summer Music, Junior Ranger activities, Walking Festival and a variety of other events that will keep you entertained through the year!
Councillor David Sudworth, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “We have got many exciting days out planned for all the family so make sure you get a copy of our parks and countryside events booklet so you can get the dates in your diary.”
Events booklets are available to collect from local libraries, community centres, information centres, leisure centres and the visitor centre at Beacon Country Park. It is also available on our website westlancs.gov.uk/parksplay, where people can also find out more about West Lancashire’s parks and countryside areas. The Rangers can also post copies if people request them.
