Tell us the names of your sporting heroes and heroines and they could win an award
Here is your chance to nominate your local sporting heroes for a prestigious accolade.
West Lancashire Borough Council is looking for local clubs, individuals and schools to put forward for the Lancashire Sports Awards. These pay tribute to those, young and old, who show dedication to perform at the highest level or those who work tirelessly to support individuals or clubs week in, week out, for the love of sport.
Nominations are being sought by the Borough Council in each of the following categories:
• Coach of the Year
• Community Club of the Year
• Young Volunteer of the Year (14 - 24 years of age)
• Adult Volunteer of the Year (25+ years of age)
• School of the Year
• Young Achiever of the Year (Under 21)
• Service to Disability Sport
• Lifetime Achievement - Commitment to Sport
Councillor David Sudworth, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “Our local sporting heroes deserve recognition for their efforts, so please send us your nominations.”
Nominees must come from or represent the West Lancashire area. To put a club, school or individual forward for an award please visit sports awards, download a nomination form and return it by email to email@example.com or post it to Emma Davies, Leisure Services, Robert Hodge Centre, Stanley Way, Skelmersdale, WN8 8EE.
The closing date for completed nomination forms is Wednesday 30 July. The selected nomination of each category will be put forward to the county awards, with the winners being announced at the Lancashire Sports Awards on Friday 28 November.
