You can help guide the development of important planning documents
Have your say on draft planning documents regarding affordable housing, homes for the elderly and minor developments in the Green Belt being worked on by West Lancashire Borough Council.
The first is about affordable housing and housing for the elderly and provides details on how the Council will seek to secure these types of housing through legal agreements with private developers who are building homes in the area.
The second concentrates on minor development in the Green Belt, such as house extensions, barn conversions, and stables.
The Council is running a public consultation on the documents and people will have from Thursday 14 May 2015 until Friday 26 June 2015 to provide their comments. The Council will consider the comments they receive, and amend the pieces of guidance as necessary before they are considered for official adoption later in the year. From this time they will be used by the Council in determining planning applications in West Lancashire.
John Harrison, Assistant Director Planning, said: “We always welcome and value the input of local people as we prepare our planning policies for the area. I would encourage people to have a look at the two documents and to send us any comments they may have.
"The draft planning documents are likely to be of interest to many people in West Lancashire, whether they want to provide or live in affordable housing, or housing for the elderly, or whether they want to carry out building work in rural areas.”
The two draft documents will be available at planning policy, or can be viewed at the Council offices or local libraries during normal opening hours. Further details can be requested by phoning 01695 585274 or emailing email@example.com. All comments on these important pieces of work must be received by the Council no later than Friday 26 June 2015.
