Open day for people to find out more about for retirement living at Evenwood Court
Find out all about retirement living in West Lancashire by calling in at a special open day at Evenwood Court, Tanhouse, on Thursday 20 March 2014 between 1pm and 4pm.
Evenwood Court is one of the many sheltered housing schemes owned by West Lancashire Borough Council. An open invitation is being made for people to visit, take a look around and see the facilities at first hand. There will also be an opportunity to see a show flat.
Councillor Val Hopley, portfolio holder for Landlord Services, said: “Evenwood Court is a very comfortable place to live so if you have retired and are looking to move out of your current home then please come and take a look at our sheltered accommodation.”
Residents of Evenwood Court’s retirement apartments all live under one roof and have access to a number of communal facilities, which include a residents’ lounge and laundry.
A scheme manager is available to support and assist residents to maintain an independent life. A range of activities are held in the residents’ lounge including coffee mornings and bingo and there are lovely communal gardens to use. Trips out are arranged and there is even a hairdresser who visits the scheme on a regular basis. Evenwood Court has a warm and friendly atmosphere and is close to Skelmersdale town centre with its shops, library and Leisure Centre.
All apartments are connected to the Council’s Home Care Link emergency response service. This gives residents peace of mind being able to call for assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Anyone aged over 60 interested in living at Evenwood Court, or any of the Council’s sheltered schemes can come along to the open day, where staff will be on hand to provide advice and answer any queries.
Anyone who would like more information about the Open Day or retirement accommodation in general can contact Christine Holding or Paul Makin on 01695 585276 or 01695 585288.
