Don't miss out on your chance to bag a load of free compost at the Big Heap

For all you gardening enthusiasts out there, why not give your plants a little extra treat this spring by helping yourself to some free compost.
To celebrate National Compost Awareness Week and thank the thousands of people in West Lancs who regularly compost garden rubbish, free compost will be available for anyone who wants it.
West Lancashire Borough Council is organising The Big Heap great compost giveaway in partnership with Lancashire County Council and Global Renewables.
All people have to do is turn up on the day with their own bags and fill them up. The compost will be available from the ASDA overflow car park at Skelmersdale on Friday 9 May 2014 from 10am until 2pm at the very latest.
People should come early as the compost is likely to go quickly. They can take as much as they want but they must bring their own bags which should be suitable for carrying compost away.
In addition, there will be an opportunity to learn more about composting at home and how this could help reduce the amount of rubbish that is thrown away.
National Compost Awareness Week is a nationwide initiative that takes place from 5-11 May 2014 and is being co-ordinated regionally by Lancashire County Council.
Global Renewables operate two waste processing facilities on behalf of Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Council.
