Don't miss the free Ormskirk Tennis Festival at Coronation Park on Sunday 29 June

If watching Andy Murray’s exploits at Wimbledon has made you want to try tennis then don’t miss the free Ormskirk Tennis Festival at Coronation Park in Ormskirk on Sunday 29 June between 11am and 5pm.

This one-day spectacular family event offers a chance to try the game with taster sessions for people of all ages and abilities. People can also test their fitness playing cardio tennis, a fitness regime set to music in which participants can burn off about 600 calories a session.

Children from local primary schools will be playing in a tournament while other attractions include a bouncy castle and other inflatables, tennis ball treasure hunt, the chance to make tennis ball bird feeders and much more! There will be fairgrounds rides for children to enjoy, and refreshments will also be available.

Councillor David Sudworth, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “Many people will see all the great players perfuming at Wimbledon and this fantastic event will give people the chance to try the sport out. So come along and enjoy this great afternoon.”

Ormskirk Tennis Club is organising the event, supported by West Lancashire Borough Council, and coaches from the club will be on hand to tell people about other opportunities to play tennis.
