The fabulous Green Fayre is the main attraction in July’s events calendar in West Lancashire’s wonderful parks.
An exciting array of craft displays and musical entertainment have been lined up for the weekend of the hugely popular free Fayre, which takes place at Beacon Country Park on 19 and 20 July.
There will be working woodlands demonstrations of chainsaw carving, willow weaving and basket making, while the main arena will feature dog displays, historical re-enactments and birds of prey displays. There will also be plenty of entertainment aimed at the children at this fantastic free day out. More details about the Green Fayre will be revealed soon.
Councillor David Sudworth, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “The Green Fayre is a fantastic day out for all the family but there are so many other events for people to enjoy in July, so put the dates in your diary and make sure you don’t miss out.”
Dazzling dancers will be showing off their moves at the free Ormskirk Dance Fest on Saturday 12 July at Coronation Park, Ormskirk, between midday and 5pm. Visitors can see award-winning dance teams and celebrities from the dance world at the bandstand.
Musical entertainers take centre stage later in the month with the start of the free summer music festival concerts in Coronation Park, Ormskirk. Brass bands and other musicians will be performing every Saturday and Sunday between 2pm and 4pm from late July to the bank holiday weekend in August.
As well as these events the regular health walks take place every week. On Tuesdays the walks start from Richmond Park bowling pavilion, Burscough, at 10am, and on Wednesdays they start from Coronation Park bowling pavilion, Ormskirk, at 1pm. The health walks are open to all - no bookings required! For more information, please call 01695 555804.
