The public can give views once again on a blueprint that will support the creation of new homes and jobs and make West Lancashire an even better place to live.
Have your chance to view the Yew Tree Farm Draft Masterplan following the ‘Options Consultation’ in Feb/March, earlier this year.
Yew Tree Farm in Burscough has been allocated for development in West Lancashire Borough Council’s Local Plan. This provides planning guidance on where new housing, employment sites and leisure facilities should be located within the borough up until 2027, for the benefit of people who live and work there.
The Yew Tree Farm Masterplan will ensure that Yew Tree Farm is developed in the best possible way for Burscough and West Lancashire.
It has been drawn up after a public consultation earlier this year through which local people helped shape the Masterplan by giving their views on where housing, employment and leisure sites could go within the plan area.
The Council is now running a public consultation for the whole of West Lancashire on the draft Masterplan from Thursday 9 October 2014 to 5pm on Friday 21 November 2014. So you can play a role in making sure the plan meets the needs of local people.
Councillor Martin Forshaw, portfolio holder for Planning and Development, said: “New homes and jobs can benefit us all. Everyone in the borough is being given the chance to have their say as we aim to develop Yew Tree Farm in the best possible way. But we particularly want to encourage the people of Burscough to take an active part in this process. All views received will be considered as we come to finalise the Masterplan.”
The Masterplan will guide delivery of development at Yew Tree Farm for new employment and at least 500 new homes.
The Draft Masterplan shows how development should come forward and what land within the Yew Tree Farm site should be safeguarded from development to meet future development needs beyond this Local Plan.
