West Lancashire business leaders can find out more about our draft economic strategy
Company bosses are invited to a special business and stakeholder event on Wednesday 11 February where they can learn more about a major strategy that aims to help create new jobs and boost business growth.
West Lancashire Borough Council is working on a West Lancashire Economic Development Strategy. We want to hear your views on the draft strategy as part of a public consultation to help us prepare the final document.
The 10-year blueprint aims to ensure the borough’s businesses can take full advantage of the opportunities created by initiatives such as Liverpool Superport and from the Local Enterprise Partnerships’ in Liverpool and Lancashire.
Companies in West Lancashire can find out more about the draft strategy at the free consultation event for businesses and public sector partners at the Best Western Lancashire Manor Hotel, Skelmersdale, on Wednesday 11 February from 8am-10.30am. Speakers will talk about the draft strategy, the West Lancashire Economy Study which helped guide the strategy, and the latest on the Liverpool Superport.
There will also be the chance to ask questions and share views on the consultation, as well as network with other businesses. To register for the event please visit business events.
The Best Western Lancashire Manor Hotel address is Prescott Road, Skelmersdale, WN8 9QD.
Councillor David Westley, Leader of West Lancashire Borough Council and portfolio holder for Regeneration, said: “I would urge company bosses to come to this special event where they find out more about our very important plan. New jobs and economic growth will benefit us all, and we want business people to take an active part in the consultation process for the strategy as they can give us their own special insight.”
The consultation ended on 25 February 2015.
