Older people living in West Lancashire can give their views to the Borough Council’s Cabinet member with portfolio for Older People Councillor Terry Aldridge at a special Listening Event on Thursday 30 July.
The event has been organised so Councillor Aldridge can hear the concerns of older people in the borough. It takes place in the Council Chamber at the authority’s Derby Street offices, starting at 11am and ending at around 12.30pm.
It is free to attend the Listening Event but if you wish to come along please contact Jane McNeice on 01695 585216 or email at email@example.com, so the Council can ensure the room has the capacity.
Councillor Aldridge said: “The purpose of the event is for me to listen to you so I hope you take this opportunity to give me your views. We are keen to listen so I’d like people to come along so we can listen to the views of older people about council services.
“We aim to be a listening council, talking to people face to face and getting a better understanding of the situation in different areas of the borough. This will help us to shape some of the policies and services that affect older people and I hope it will give us a better understanding of our local communities.”
Councillor Aldridge is also Lancashire County Council’s Older People Champion and will cover this role for the Borough Council.
