The closing date for entries is fast approaching for the West Lancashire Open Exhibition at Ormskirk’s Chapel Gallery.
If your family and friends think that you have artistic talent, and you would like to show your artwork to a wider audience, this is the show for you.
Each entrant can submit two original pieces of artwork that will be presented to the selected panel. The submission days for handing in your work are Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June. All media entered will be considered, from paintings, printmaking, three-dimensional work and photography to sculpture and textiles.
Councillor Yvonne Gagen, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “This annual exhibition is a fantastic opportunity and a great way to get your work noticed, especially if you haven’t exhibited before. Work from all media is considered, which makes for an exciting and varied exhibition, just make sure you don’t miss the deadline.”
The West Lancashire Open exhibition is one of the annual highlights at Chapel Gallery calendar and is growing in popularity every year.
It celebrates the creative talents of ambitious amateurs, accomplished students and professional artists from throughout the region. Whatever kind of art you make, photographs, paintings, textiles, or anything in between, this is an excellent opportunity to exhibit or even sell your pieces.
It’s also a showcase for budding artists who want to reach a wider audience. Each year people who have never shown their artwork publically get their first experience of exhibiting in a professional gallery. So if you feel that you’d like to have that chance, pick up an application form and have a go.
All the work selected is exhibited at the welcoming Chapel Gallery from 11 July to 9 September 2015.
