The Chapel Gallery has a fun packed timetable of egg-citing activities for children this Easter, and there are treats in store at the café - with a special Easter menu.
Young people aged 8 – 12 can enjoy two creative workshops Egg Heads on Wednesday 1 April and the Baskets of Goodies workshop taking place on Wednesday 8 April.
During the Egg Head workshop they will explore carving, patterning and manipulating clay and make their own egg cups to take home. Those attending the Basket of Goodies will use a variety of paper and learn weaving techniques to make their own funky shapes.
The artist leading both of these workshops, which take place between 10.30am and 12.30pm, will be Emma Blackburn. The fee is £5 per child for each session.
All Things Easter on Friday 10 April is a treasure trove of fun activities that includes colouring in, decorating eggs and making Easter bonnets, something for all the family to enjoy. This session will be led by a professional artist and is a free family-friendly event for preschool children and their families. All children need to be accompanied by an adult. The morning session is from 10.30am-12.30pm and the afternoon session is from 1.30pm-3.30pm.

Councillor David Sudworth, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “The Chapel Gallery always provides great events during the school holiday, and I would encourage children to come along and learn new artistic skills.”

Professional artist, Lucy Wilson, who draws and creates wildlife, is facilitating a workshop at Mere Sands Wood, so come along to one of the sessions to create exciting artwork with Lucy as part of the RSPB draw a bird day. This is a free family friendly event for families and children of all ages. Sessions are from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm.
