Nominations are now open for the Let’s talk Apprenticeship Awards 2016
West Lancashire Borough Council is searching for West Lancashire’s most outstanding employers and apprentices to be nominated for The Let’s talk Apprenticeship Awards 2016.
The awards recognise the hard work apprentices put into excelling in their chosen field and recognise the employers who put apprenticeships at the heart of their organisation.
Now it is time for businesses to apply and nominate, which they can do for free. The award categories are:
- Apprentice of the Year 2016 - If your organisation has an existing apprentice or an employee who has completed their apprenticeship in the last twelve months, who you think has exhibited the drive and enthusiasm to be awarded The Let’s talk Apprentice of the Year Award 2016, then please nominate this person and celebrate their achievement.
- Apprentice Employer of the Year 2016 - If you have an existing apprenticeship or training programme that you think works well for both the apprentice(s) and your business, then please nominate your company and gain the recognition you deserve as an apprentice employer in West Lancashire.
Councillor Ian Moran portfolio holder for Economic Regeneration, said: “I would encourage apprenticeship employers to enter these awards. This is a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on their business and their apprentices. Businesses that take part will gain credit for their commitment to apprenticeships and lead the way for other organisations thinking of recruiting an apprentice.”
Applications for both categories can be made online at apprenticeship awards 2016. The closing date for all applications is Friday 12 February 2016.
The awards will be presented at a special business awards and networking event on Thursday 10 March 2016, 8am-10.30am at West Tower, Aughton in West Lancashire.
This free event will not only feature the presentation of the apprenticeship awards but also a number of guest speakers who will discuss their business story and provide you with advice on how to successfully grow your business. In addition there will be information and presentations on funding and grant opportunities available for West Lancashire businesses.
Places at the event are free but must be booked in advance. To register visit apprenticeship awards 2016.
