If you are between 11 and 18 you can enjoy coaching with Wigan Athletic in the Community in the run up to Bonfire Night.
The sessions have been organised by West Lancashire Community Safety Partnership as part of the annual Go4It programme of activities for young people. Prizes will be on offer such as goodies and tickets to watch Wigan Athletic.
The football coaches will be at Tanhouse Enterprise Group (formerly known as Tanhouse Community Centre) on Monday 2 November between 6pm and 8pm and at Skelmersdale Fire Station on Tuesday 3 November and Wednesday 4 November between 6pm and 8pm.
If you don’t fancy the football there are plenty of other activities for you to enjoy at the Go4It activities. All of these take place between 5pm and 8pm at Skelmersdale Fire Station on 2, 3, and 4 November and include a rodeo bull simulator, a Sega grid X4 arcade simulator and a full size F1 cockpit simulator.
You can also test your reflexes on the batak equipment, which is specifically designed to improve reaction, hand eye co-ordination and stamina as well as being a lot of fun. A free buffet will be available all three evenings at the fire station Go4It activities.
Phil Jones, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service station manager for West Lancashire, said: “Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite young people from the Skelmersdale area to attend Skelmersdale Fire Station over the three nights, where we can and provide them with plenty of enjoyable activities.
“We can provide local young people with a safe environment which not only assists with reducing anti-social behaviour and the risk of people being hurt in fire related incidents, but it also provides somewhere that is fun for the young people to enjoy themselves and engage with the other supporting agencies.”
Dave Tilleray, West Lancashire Community Safety Partnership chairman, said: “Go4it activities are a major part of the Bright Sparx Action plan action plan which aims to reduce anti-social behaviour around this time of year.”
Councillor Kevin Wright, portfolio holder for Community Safety, said: “I am really pleased the Community Safety Partnership has been able to organise these fun events once again. These events have been really enjoyable in the past and I am sure they will be so again this year.”
