Children can enjoy Junior Rangers Winter Crafts events

Children aged between 5 and 12 can get into the festive spirit by making their own Christmas decorations using materials harvested from local parks with the Junior Rangers Club.

Free events have been organised by West Lancashire Borough Council Parks and Countryside Ranger Service where children can make their own colourful Christmas wreaths with natural resources from the parks.

The first one is at Beacon Country Park, Up Holland, on Saturday 3 December, starting at 1pm.

Further events are:

  • 10 December, 10am: Stanley Coronation Park, Skelmersdale
  • 10 December, 1pm: Richmond Park, Burscough
  • 11 December, 1pm: Coronation Park, Ormskirk

Councillor Yvonne Gagen, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “Junior Rangers events are always a lot of fun and this will be a great way to get into the festive spirit, so make sure you book a place for your child."

Booking opens seven days before each event and is essential to avoid disappointment. For more details on events, and to book places, please email beacon.park@westlancs.gov.uk or call 01695 622794. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult when attending a junior rangers’ event. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather conditions if attending these outdoor events.
