Come and have lots of exciting Christmas fun in Skelmersdale

People of all ages can join Father Christmas and Mickey Mouse for a fantastic free Christmas celebration full of festive treats on Friday 9 December between 4pm and 7pm.

West Lancashire Borough Council is working in partnership with Lancashire County Council's Wellbeing, Prevention and Early Years Service in organising a free Community Christmas Event at Lancashire County Council’s Youth Zone, Southway, Skelmersdale.

An exciting line up of activities and entertainment to suit young and old will include Christmas songs and carols by Skelmersdale & Up Holland U3A and Skelmersdale Singers, while Skelmersdale Prize Brass Band will also perform seasonal music. There will also be dance performances by the Youth Zone’s resident dance school, together with plenty of craft activities for the children to enjoy.

So come along and have a Christmas selfie with Father Christmas and children’s themed characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Olaf from Frozen who will all be on walkabout meeting and greeting everyone.

There will also be plenty of tasty Christmas treats on offer provided by the catering students from West Lancs College. These will include turkey hot pot, mince pies and chocolate covered Christmas tree shaped shortbread. Tea, coffee and juice will also be provided.

Councillor Yvonne Gagen, West Lancashire Borough Council portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “Families can come along and enjoy this fantastic event and get in the mood for Christmas. Make sure you don’t miss it!”
