Some of the most beautiful cars entered into the Ormskirk MotorFest on Sunday 28 August will compete in a really special contest at the motoring extravaganza.
The Concours d’Elegance competition was a very popular attraction at last year’s MotorFest as it saw some of the most superb cars and motorcycles at the MotorFest lined up in a special area in Coronation Park. This will be the venue again and judges will cast their expert eye over the fabulous models.
Winners will be selected in each of the 13 classes along with an overall winner.
Ormskirk MotorFest, one of the biggest free family events in the North West of England, is organised by Aintree Circuit Club and supported by West Lancashire Borough Council.
The Concours d’Elegance is being sponsored for the second year by Halsall-based Carequick Ltd Air Conditioning, which specialises in building services, air conditioning and mechanical maintenance.
Colin Maxwell, Carequick Ltd managing director, said: “I am a keen car enthusiast and The Concours de Elegance was a great spectacle last year with same fantastic cars taking part. So I am delighted to be able sponsor it for a second year.”
Councillor John Hodson, Council portfolio holder for Planning, said: “The Ormskirk MotorFest is always a fantastic free day out for all the family, so make sure you don’t miss this wonderful event.
“We are really grateful to Colin at Carequick for sponsoring the Concours d’Elegance, which is just one of many superb attractions being lined up for a really enjoyable day.
“With so many thousands of visitors expected to come to Ormskirk for the MotorFest, we hope that town centre businesses will take advantage of this great opportunity and open up on MotorFest day.”
Mike Ashcroft, chairman of Aintree Circuit Club, said: “The Concours d’Elegance shows off some of the most beautiful cars at the MotorFest in a really special way.
“Some superb vehicles are brought to the MotorFest which would be worthy winners of a Concours d’Elegance at any motoring event, and we believe this adds a great competition element. People really enjoyed looking at these beautiful cars last year and I am sure that will be the case again this year.”
The 13 classes in the Concours d’Elegance will include sections for supercars, saloon cars from between 1966 and 1990 and classes for pre-second world war cars and motorcycles.
Entries have now closed for general MotorFest vehicles, but cars and motorcycles can still be entered into the Concours d’Elegance until Thursday 28 July. To enter your vehicle in the Concours d’Elegance please visit Ormskirk MotorFest (external link). Entry into the Concours d’Elegance costs £10.
Cars and motorcycles not taking part in the Concours d’Elegance will also be lined up in Coronation Park and streets across Ormskirk town centre. About 300 fabulous cars and motorcycles from all eras of motoring will be in display and many of them will take part in exciting parade laps around the town centre.
You can help the Ormskirk MotorFest to continue to be a major attraction by sponsoring the 2016 event. There are a number of ways sponsors can become involved in MotorFest. For more details please contact Colin Brady, Technical Services Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01695 585125.
