West Lancashire Borough Council’s pest control service can help stop insect invasions bugging you during the warm summer weather.
While most of us are looking forward to some summer sun, many homes and businesses may experience problems with crawling and flying insects, particularly wasps, flies, bees and ants.
Any pest problem is distressing, but wasps have the potential to attack in large numbers if they are disturbed, so it’s best to treat a nest earlier in the year before numbers increase and the wasps become more aggressive. In most cases a wasp sting causes no long term harm, but it can potentially be life threatening if you are allergic to stings. Wasps can build nests outdoors under eaves or, if they can gain access, they can find sheltered areas inside your home, such as wall cavities, roof spaces and attics.
You can trust the Council’s safe and convenient Pest Control Service to get rid of your pest problem quickly and cheaply. Our friendly, trained and experienced technicians will visit by appointment and aim to successfully treat nuisance insect pest problems in just one visit. This includes the relocation of bees, where our technicians are able to do so.
With the Council’s online booking service for homes and businesses, it’s easier than ever to rid your property of unwanted pests.
Online booking is available on the pest control pages 24 hours a day. Or you can call 01695 577177 between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Councillor Kevin Wright, portfolio holder for Health, said: “Warm summer weather will be great for most of us, but this can mean unwanted pests visit our homes and businesses. If you are having problems then contact our pest control team and they will be happy to assist you.”
A residential treatment costs £41.21. If two or more species require treatment at the same time, an additional charge of £12 per species is made. If two or more wasp nests require treatment at the same time, then an additional charge of £12 per nest is also made.
For commercial customers, we offer effective treatments for the majority of pest species. Competitive rates are available for one-off treatments or routine service contracts can provide sustained and cost effective pest control.
