The Tree House Gallery in Sandy Lane, Skelmersdale is hosting plenty of exciting activities in the coming weeks.
Children can enjoy free creative activities on Wednesday 1 November and Friday 3 November. Morning sessions are from 10.30am-12.30pm and the afternoon sessions are from 1.30pm-3.30pm. Children of all ages are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult. The children will be creating artworks inspired by the Turf Troll created by Matt Roby. They can make mythical friends for the Turf Troll and create a habitat.
A free six-week painting course for adults (16+) starts on Saturday 4 November. Sessions take place from 10.30am–12.30pm. All abilities are welcome. The sessions are facilitated by Ed McConnell to include basic drawing skills and developing skills in perspective and composition with paint.
The Tree House Gallery, Gift Shop and Café goes from strength to strength. It is run by the Friends of Sandy Lane Community Interest Company and is supported by West Lancashire Borough Council.
Councillor Yvonne Gagen, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “The Tree House Gallery, gift shop and cafe is a great attraction for Skelmersdale so come along and see what it has to offer.”
The first floor space of the Tree House has been developed, providing opportunities for makers of handmade clothes and accessories and much more. Regular space rental is available throughout the unit and includes everything from glass to textiles and handmade crafts. There is also a second room upstairs that can be hired for workshops and courses.
Individuals looking to gain employment skills, gain confidence and work within a varied environment can volunteer, with all training being provided.
