Chapel Gallery Christmas Market
For festive fun and unique seasonal stalls, start your Christmas countdown by visiting the Chapel Gallery Christmas Market this December.
The two-day event on Friday 29 November and Saturday 30 November will showcase over 40 stalls of arts, crafts and handmade goods. Each stall will offer quirky and original gift ideas such as decorations, cards, accessories, textiles, ceramics and much more. During the event Tea with Tom will be providing a pop up tearoom in the main hall upstairs with a great selection of refreshments and spicy mulled wine.
Artists and makers selling their treasures include Sue Jackson with her handmade and sandblasted paperweights and bottles, Lucy Wilson with her bookbinding and paper-crafts, Frank Morgan with his wood turned pots and decorative items and Penny Fletcher with her hand-woven scarves, throws and bags.
Councillor David Sudworth, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: “The Chapel Gallery Christmas Market is a fantastic opportunity to find unique gift ideas for loved ones in the run up to Christmas. With two days of stalls, live music and activities; it’s a great place to shop in a relaxed environment.”
Stalls will open at the West Lancashire Borough Council-run Gallery from midday on Friday 29 November, the same day as Ormskirk Christmas lights will be switched on. Then from 6pm onwards families can enjoy live music, fun activities and a fantastic festive atmosphere. There will be chance to meet and greet your favourite Christmas characters and fancy dress competitions for those aged under 12 and over 12.
If it’s culinary delights you seek, there’s plenty of tasty Yuletide treats on offer from the Hunkie Dorrie Cafe. On Saturday stalls will be open from 10am to 4.30pm when you can enjoy the festive atmosphere provided by the Cotton Town Hot Club Vintage DJ’s who will be playing all your Christmas favourites.
To ensure that there’s even more time to enjoy this winter wonderland and choose from the great gifts on offer in the Gallery shop, the building will be open for extra shopping days every Monday from 18 November to 16 December.
