Spooky Pickled Circus is coming to Sandy Lane in Skelmersdale
The whole family can enjoy plenty of free spooky half-term fun with exciting activities in Skelmersdale and Ormskirk.
West Lancashire Borough Council’s Arts Development Service has teamed up with professional artist Matt Roby who will be providing monstrous fun with a number of hair raising activities. He is bringing his pickled Circus characters to Sandy Lane and providing young people with the opportunity to create their own strange characters.
The Spooky mayhem is happening at Unit 63, which is on the upper level at Sandy Lane Shopping Centre on Tuesday 27, Wednesday 28, and Thursday 29 October. Morning sessions are between 10am and 12.30pm, and afternoon sessions are between 1.15pm and 4pm. As well as enjoying the Spooky Pickled Circus the whole family can also take part in crazy creative workshops with Matt.
So if you are stuck for things to do during October half term come along to Unit 63 and join in the fun. The sessions are for all ages, and children need to be accompanied by an adult. All materials are supplied, bring yourself and lots of great ideas.
To book a place and for further information please contact Chapel Gallery on 01695 571328 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If this isn’t spooky enough for you then join in this year’s Big Draw event at Chapel Gallery and have monster fun. A fabulous array of monster activities will be available to visitors to engage with.
Monster masks, Halloween bunting and draw your own monster as big as yourself. Activities will be part of the marvellous Meet the Dragon exhibition. Sunny the Dragon was created by schools children and members of the general public who took part in the art project “Create a Tall Tale” for Parbold Street Art Festival. The dragon was the result of a summer programme of workshops, including dance, music, visual art and creative writing.
The exhibition with the Big Draw Event opens with the activities on Wednesday 28 October and will be available for everyone to join in until Saturday 7 November. No need to book, just pop in. The Gallery is open 10am-4.30pm Tuesday to Saturday. Groups larger than ten should contact the Gallery staff before their visit.
