Grants to voluntary groups
West Lancashire Borough Council has approved grants to seven organisations that provide important services to people in the borough.
The Council has funding in its 2017/18 budget to provide some financial support to voluntary and other groups in West Lancashire that provide vital services to the community.
Applications were invited from voluntary groups and these were examined by an elected-member working group of the Council.
The West Lancashire Borough Council meeting on Wednesday 22 February determined the Council Budget which included the voluntary grants for 2017-18 to the following organisations:
- West Lancashire CVS £29,250
- Homestart Central Lancs £11,270
- Citizens Advice Lancashire West £43,160
- West Lancashire Dial A Ride Association £25,720
- Disability Advice West Lancs £8,510
- Bereavement Counselling £5,330
- West Lancs ARK £13,000
Councillor Yvonne Gagen, portfolio holder with responsibility for grants to voluntary and community organisations, said: "The Council is very aware of the huge and positive impact these organisations have on the community and we are delighted to have been able to give some financial backing to them.”
