The Council may take proceedings where work commences without a
valid submission being made for approval under the Building
Regulations. This can also apply if notice of various stages of
work (including commencement) is not given by a person carrying out
work.
Proceedings may also be taken where building work contravenes any
provision contained in the Building Regulations.
A Notice may require the owner to pull down or remove the work, or
carry out alterations to make the work comply. In addition there is
also the possibility that the offending party could receive a fine
for contravening the Building Regulations.
