Remembrance Sunday Services and Parades – 11 November 2018

Ormskirk

The Mayor, Councillor Noel Delaney, Chief Executive, Ms. Kim Webber, Rosie Cooper MP (who will leave for Skelmersdale immediately after the first wreath laying Ceremony) to attend.

09.35am Parade assembles at St. Anne’s R.C. Church

09.50am Short service, SILENCE, Last Post, Laying of Wreaths, Reveille.

10.00am Parade will march off to the War Memorial in Coronation Park via Aughton Street LEFT into Park Avenue and into the rear entrance of Coronation Park and into the pedestrian only area. Short Service, SILENCE, Last Post, Laying of Wreaths, Reveille.

10.20am Parade will march to the Parish Church from Coronation Park emerging from Park Pool entrance and using the one way road up to the Church.

10.45am Main Service of Remembrance inside the Parish Church, Last Post, Laying of Wreaths, Reveille.

11.30am After the service the salute will be taken outside the entrance to the Parish Church where the Parade is dismissed. Tea and biscuits will be served in the New Church Hall.

Aughton

12.15pm Aughton Parish Council is responsible for arrangements. The Parade assembles at the War Memorial in Granville Park for the Service of Remembrance.

Burscough

Burscough Parish Council is responsible for arrangements. The Mayor, Councillor Noel Delaney, to attend. The Parade assembles outside Legion Headquarters, Lord Street, Burscough at 1.30pm and marches off at 1.45pm. Arriving at the War Memorial in Junction Lane at 2pm where a Wreath is laid and a Service will take place. The Parade will then march back to the St. John's Parish Church for a service commencing at 2.45pm. Refreshments will also be provided at the Legion Headquarters.

Lathom

10.20 Lathom Parish Council is responsible for arrangements. The Parade assembles at Lathom Park War Memorial, Hall Lane for a Wreath Laying Ceremony which is followed by a Service of Remembrance in Lathom Park Chapel at 10.50.

Skelmersdale

The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Gaynor Owen, accompanied by the Director of Housing and Inclusion, Jacqui Sinnott-Lacey, will join the Parade, which marches from Whitemoss Road, Skelmersdale at 10.35am to the War Memorial in Sandy Lane for a Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony at 11am. Light refreshments will be available after the service at the Wardens’ Club, Blaguegate Lane, Skelmersdale.

Up Holland

10.50 Up Holland Churches Together is responsible for arrangements. The Parade assembles at the War Memorial at Vicarage Corner for a 10 minute service Wreath Laying Ceremony.

Most church in West Lancashire will be holding their own services.

HMS Ringtail Monument, Pippin Street, Ringtail Retail Park - Saturday 10 November 2018

There will be a short service and a two minute silence after which wreaths will be laid at the monument. Guests should gather at around 10.00am. The Service will start 10.30am. All are welcome.
