Between the draft and final versions of the SHLAA, the decision
was taken to 'park' a number of sites, and record them
as having no likely housing yield at present. These
tended to be sites where current policies would prevent housing
development, for example sites within the Green Belt or at risk of
flooding.
The consultants surveyed and assessed every site of 0.1 hectare
and greater. Only 10% of sites less than 0.1
hectare were surveyed.
Thus if a site does not appear on the first list below, it is
likely to be included in the second list of documents, or else it
is a small site that was not surveyed.
Sites with housing potential
'Parked' sites
Current policies on these sites would preclude housing
development:
- Appley Bridge, Banks,
Bickerstaffe, Burscough, Halsall, Hesketh Bank, Lathom
(2.7mb)
- Ormskirk, Parbold,
Rufford (2.7mb)
- Skelmserdale,
Scarisbrick, Tarleton, Up Holland, Wrightington (2.8mb)
Sites grouped by expected timescales for development
We have also sorted the sites according to when housing
might be expected to be delivered on them:
Paper copies of the above documents can be viewed at the Council
offices in Ormskirk during normal office hours.
Maps of sites
Section two of our draft SHLAA web page contains a series of
maps showing the locations of the SHLAA sites in the various parts
of West Lancashire.
