Section 80 Demolition Notices
Who We Are
The Building Control Service at West Lancashire Borough Council takes your privacy very seriously and will keep your information secure at all times.
Your Data
We will only use your personal information to process your Section 80 - Demolition Notice.
Retention of Information
We will retain the personal information which we hold about you for 3 years from the time you serve us with your Section 80 – Demolition Notice after which time it will be deleted from our systems and any hard copies will be securely shredded. The reason for retaining the information for this time period is for monitoring purposes.
Third Parties
As a Statutory Duty imposed under Section 81 of The Building Act 1984 applicant details will be shared with the following:
- The owner / occupier of any building adjacent to the building to which the Notice relates
- United Utilities
- Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service
- Northwest Water
- National Grid Disconnections & Isolation Team
- Disconnections Team – Scottish Power
- The Health & Safety Executive
In issuing Counter Notices under Section 81 of The Building Act 1984 we will also share applicant details with the following interested parties:
- The Environment Agency
- Lancashire Constabulary
- Other Council Services including:
- Leisure and Environment
- Development Management
- Revenue and Benefits
- Heritage and Environment
- LLPG and GIS
We may also share these details with the Council's Legal and Technical Services.
Transfer of Data
We will not transfer your information to a country outside of the EU.
Automated Decision Making
We do not engage in automated decision making using your personal information.
