The Building Control Service at West Lancashire Borough Council takes your privacy very seriously and will keep your information secure at all times.

Your Data

We will only use your personal information to process your Building Regulations Submission.

Retention of Information

We will retain the personal information which we hold about you for 15 years from the time you make a Building Regulations submission after which time it will be deleted from our systems and any hard copies will be securely shredded. The reason for retaining the information for this time period is a requirement under the guidance provide by the Department for Communities and Local Government - Building Control Performance Standards.

Third Parties

We may share your information with Statutory Consultee(s); (United Utilities and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service) and our consulting Structural Engineers the purpose of determining that certain elements of your proposals comply with the relevant requirements of the Building Regulations and associated legislation.

Transfer of Data

We will not transfer your information to a country outside of the EU.

Automated Decision Making

We do not engage in automated decision making using your personal information.
