Who We Are
The Growth and Development Service at West Lancashire Borough Council takes your privacy very seriously and will keep your personal data secure at all times.
Your Data
We will use your personal data as part of the Council's non-statutory duties in relation to providing pre-application planning advice and responding to requests for information as part of the Council's planning function and discretionary services.
Data provided may be used as part of the Council's work with regard to monitoring, providing reports and for the purposes of investigations into breaches of planning control.
Retention of Information
Personal data which we hold about you will be retained in accordance with the Service retention and Disposal Schedule. . Pre-application enquiries will be held indefinitely as they form part of the planning history for the site and the data will be used for monitoring and enforcement purposes. Personal data will be held securely by the Council. We have a data protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal information, and also utilise appropriate technical safeguards to keep your information secure.
Third Parties
The Council is not required to publish pre-application and related enquiries. However we may share personal data with other services within the Council, and with third parties including statutory consultees such as Natural England or the Environment Agency. If the Council receives a Freedom of Information request we may be obliged to disclose pre-application and related enquiries and responses. However personal data will be redacted should this occur.
Transfer of Data
We will not transfer your personal data to a country outside of the EU.
Automated Decision Making
We do not engage in automated decision making using your personal data.
