Commercial clinical waste collections
We collect clinical waste from the following businesses and
organisations: health clinics, doctors' surgeries, veterinary
practices, residential homes, nursing homes and chemists.
What we collect
Examples of clinical waste include:
- In a Yellow Bag: swabs or soiled dressings, human or animal
tissue, waste from treatment areas
- In Tiger Sacks: urine containers, bed pan liners, incontinence
pads and stoma bags
- In a Sharps Box: syringes, needles or other sharp instruments
or glass
How to arrange a clinical waste
collection
If your organisation needs to arrange a clinical waste collection,

requirements to sandra.reay@westlancsdc.gov.uk.
For commercial waste there is a charge depending on the amount and
number of collections - each business is quoted a competitive
price.
We will provide all customers with special bin bags and boxes for
sharp items. Items should be left out for collection by
7.30am.
