Blue box recycling collections (glass, metal and plastic)

Blue box: glass, metal and plastic recycling

blue box recyclingYour blue box is for recycling:

  • aluminium and steel cans and tins like drinks cans, food tins
  • glass bottles and jars
  • plastic bottles, but not plastic yoghurt pots, margarine tubs or microwavable trays

Please do...

  • rinse all containers and remove lids and corks
  • squash your drinks cans and plastic bottles to get more in your box
  • leave extra recyclables in open carrier bags at the side if your box is full. Please leave the bags open so the collectors can see what's in them.

Please don't...

  • put out broken glass or mirrors
  • put out any other plastic than plastic bottles. We cannot take plastic containers, like yogurt pots and margarine tubs
  • put out any metal items other than tins or cans

We can only supply one blue box per household. If you can't fit everything into your blue box, leave the extra recycling in an open carrier bag at the side. If you need a replacement box, complete the Replacement Boxes/Bags/Bins online form.
