National data sources
Here are some external sources of data that staff might find useful in carrying out equality analysis. This should be used as a guide only – there are a number of other sources that staff can consider, some of which might be specific to the work they do.
Staff should consider testing out national data with local people and organisations to make sure that trends and issues apply in West Lancashire.
The Local Government Association (external link) website provides useful information about West Lancashire and other areas. This includes demographic breakdowns by ward, and information from the 2011 census about housing tenure, employment, education and health.
There is also useful regional data on the latest Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (external link)
