The Council aims to ensure services continue as close to normal as possible during this time. Please follow our social media (Twitter and Facebook) for updates or visit this page for any changes to how our services have been affected.
There are some council services that are currently suspended until further notice.
Customer Service Points:
To support and maintain our critical services during this time, we have closed our main Council building on Derby Street in Ormskirk until further notice.
The Customer Service Point in the Concourse Shopping Centre, Skelmersdale is now open.
To ensure we can keep staff and visitors safe we have installed screens at the counter and floor stickers to show a safe distance to stay apart. We will also be limiting the number of people coming into the Customer Service Point at any one time.
As we need to limit the number of staff to ensure they can be there safely for you our opening times will be 10am to 3pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Please help us to support you, by accessing non-emergency services online. These services are available online 24 hours a day.
All West Lancashire Community Leisure Trust-run leisure centres have been closed following Government instructions regarding Coronavirus. These include: Banks Leisure Centre; Burscough Fitness and Racquets Centre; Nye Bevan Pool, Skelmersddale; and Park Pool, Ormskirk as well as the golf course at Beacon Park
We are suspending all pest control bookings until further notice to help us focus our resources on priority services.
We will be delivering a reduced service and areas will be unmaintained for longer periods of time than usual. We would like to ask residents not to contact us during this time to enable us to dedicate our resources.
Garden Waste Collection Service:
For residents who wish to subscribe to the 2020/21 from 11 May garden waste subscription service, they can do this via the online only subscription form.
This service is online only whilst our call centre staff support vulnerable residents in the community during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
West Lancashire Borough Council Tennant Housing Repairs:
Following the latest Government measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the West Lancashire Borough Council Housing Repairs Service is currently only delivering emergency housing repairs for the foreseeable future. No new non-emergency bookings will be accepted.
The definition of emergency and non-emergency housing repairs can be found in the West Lancashire Borough Council Tenants Handbook (PDF 2MB)
If any West Lancashire Borough Council tenants contact us with a non-emergency housing repair, they will be asked to call back in 4 weeks' time. Any non-emergency housing repairs enquiries will be passed to our Property Services team and will be followed up accordingly.
