Events and Meetings

Changes to services

  • Elections delayed
  • Parks events delayed

To help us all comply with government social distancing guidelines and aid all Council staff in maintaining and supporting essential services during the Coronavirus pandemic, the following events have been postponed.

Elections

The Council elections that were due to happen on Thursday 7th May have been cancelled by the Government. They will now happen next year instead.

Council Meetings

To help and support everyone to stay at home the Council will introduce Skype Council meetings so you can keep in touch with the important decision making in your local area.

The first of these was the Planning Committee on Thursday 23 April at 7pm and you can view proceedings online at https://democracy.westlancs.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=133&MId=2046.

We will let you know when other online meetings are due to take place.

You can also contact your Councillor online.

Outdoor events

Sadly the Council has had to cancel spring and early summer parks and countryside events, including walks and volunteering activities are cancelled until further notice. This unfortunately includes our Annual Green Fayre which was planned for 25th and 26th July.

The planned 75th anniversary of VE Day parade has also been postponed until further notice.

We will review our calendar of events again at the end of June.
