We are delighted to be working with the Jigsaw Homes Group to provide 51 new properties available for affordable rent at the former Atkinson Kirby site in Ormskirk.
There will be 21 two–bedroom houses, 10 three-bedroom houses and 20 one-bedroom apartments for affordable rent. You can apply through the Council’s letting scheme and then the homes will be managed by Chorley Community Housing, which is part of Jigsaw Homes Group.
Councillor Jenny Wilkie, portfolio holder for Housing and Landlord Services, said: “We feel strongly about providing affordable housing for our communities and working in partnership with a range of delivery partners we will be able to offer a variety of much needed affordable properties.”
Despite the delay in building due to the COVID-19 restrictions it is hoped that all three bed homes and ten one bed apartments will be completed and available to let by September with the rest of the development being completed as soon as possible thereafter.
Garnet Fazackerley, Operations Director – Development at Jigsaw Group said
“This is our second development in the Borough and we are thrilled to be working with West Lancs Borough Council and Homes England to provide additional affordable housing. Once completed, the development at Atkinson Road will provide quality affordable homes for rent, in a sustainable location within the borough.”
The rental properties will be advertised on HomeFinder, the council’s choice-based letting scheme. You will need to be registered with HomeFinder so you can bid for properties. Information on how to register for HomeFinder is also available on the website www.westlancshomefinder.co.uk. If you are interested in these properties, please check the HomeFinder website regularly as they will be advertised ahead of their completion.
