The Liberty Centre provides a wealth of services for all victims of domestic abuse and abuse. They offer emergency accommodation to women, men and children, counselling and support for anyone affected by domestic abuse. The West Lancashire Borough Council domestic violence webpage has more details about services available to people suffering domestic violence and gives details of Don't Be A Bystander a flagship campaign against Domestic Abuse launched in 2017. Its central role is to encourage witnesses of domestic abuse to come forward to the police or charities such as the Liberty Centre.
Heidi McDougall, West Lancashire Community Safety Partnership chairperson, added: “People can feel ashamed and scared talking about domestic abuse. There is help at hand for residents suffering from domestic abuse during the festive period.
"We also urge witnesses of such violence not to be a bystander, come forward and speak out for those that are unable to report any problems to the Police.”
