If you live in Birch Green and want to have your say in the By-election for a new local Councillor on Thursday 21 November 2019 you must ensure you are registered to vote.
Unless you have recently moved address, Birch Green residents who received poll cards for, or voted in, the May 2019 Borough Council elections do not need to register to vote again for the By-election. If in doubt, call West Lancashire Borough Council’s elections office on 01695 585014.
If you do need to register you can do so at Register to vote (external link). For more information email email@example.com. If you can't access the internet ask the Council's elections office for a paper registration form. The closing date to register to vote in the Birch Green Ward By-election is Tuesday 5 November.

So if you live in Birch Green make sure you are registered to vote, and your details on the Electoral Roll are correct, so you can vote in this By-election."
If you don’t think you can get to your polling station on By-election day then you can apply for a postal vote. Or you can apply for a proxy vote, where someone you nominate can go to your polling station to vote on your behalf.
To ask for a postal or proxy vote application form call or email the Elections Office, download one from how to vote, or call into the Council Offices, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk, L39 2DF. Completed postal vote application forms must reach us by 5pm on Wednesday 6 November, and proxy vote forms must arrive by 5pm on Wednesday 13 November.
Emergency proxy votes at this election can be applied for where physical incapacity occurred or work/service reasons occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 13 November, and must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Council Offices by 5pm on Thursday 21 November 2019.
