Skelmersdale community Christmas event set to sparkle

West Lancashire Borough Council are delighted to be supporting the Skelmersdale Christmas event at West Lancashire College on 10 December. Local community groups have joined together to create this special Christmas event, kindly hosted by the College this Friday between 4pm and 8pm.

This fantastic evening will include carol singing from local schools and community groups, Christmas cars, festive foodie treats, various stallholders, Santa's Grotto and Christmas lights.

Our Rangers Team have been on hand to advise organisers on aspects of the set-up of the event and the Mayor of West Lancashire, Councillor Gordon Johnson will be in attendance. There will festive carols to enjoy sung by St Richard's, Woodlands, St Edmund's and St James' Primary Schools along with Learning Stars.

Councillor Yvonne Gagen, portfolio holder for Leisure and Human Resources, said: "It's great to see that the community spirt in Skelmersdale is as strong as ever. Congratulations to everyone who has been involved in bringing this smashing Christmas celebration to fruition, they should be very proud. I hope everyone attending has a fantastic evening."

The event will be held in the car park of the College. It is free to attend the event and while there is parking, it is advised that people walk to the event where possible.
