Voluntary groups can apply now for revenue funding

Community, charity and voluntary organisations in West Lancashire are being invited to apply for revenue grants from the Borough Council.

The Borough Council will consider applications from registered charities, voluntary groups, community interest companies and social enterprises that operate for public benefit.

This pot of money is just for those operating in and serving the residents of West Lancashire. Previous recipients include CVS, CAB, Dial a Ride, Homestart and Bereavement Counselling Services.

If an application is approved, funding will be granted for the 2019-2020 financial year.

Councillor Claire Cooper, portfolio holder with responsibility for grants to voluntary, community and charity organisations, said: "The Council is extremely aware of the huge impact many of these groups have on the West Lancashire community and would like to support them as much as we can.

"With an ever-shrinking Council budget, we're trying our best to continue this funding stream for the benefit of our residents. We are keen to receive applications from organisations operating in West Lancashire, however small or large."

The deadline for applications is Friday 23 November 2018. For more information, including clear criteria and an application form, please visit grants.

Groups can also get more information and an application form by contacting Sue Griffiths on 01695 585097 or e-mail susan.griffiths@westlancs.gov.uk.
