How we are reducing the rat population

In partnership with United Utilities we carry out a proactive sewer baiting programme to help control rodents throughout the borough.

Information collected from previous sewer baiting programmes and rodent complaints, helps to ensure that treatments are targeted at those areas where most activity is experienced.

Since starting the baiting programme in 2003 we have seen rodent activity within the waste water system decrease by 12%.
