Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Support/Resources for Children and Young People

The World Health Organisation defines Mental Health as 'a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realise their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community.'

The Mental Health Foundation defines emotional wellbeing as “a positive sense of wellbeing which enables an individual to be able to function in society and meet the demands of everyday life; people in good mental health have the ability to recover effectively from illness, change, or misfortune.”

If you feel that that you may be developing a mental health problem, you should firstly make an appointment to discuss this with your GP. If you are thinking about ending your life, please call the local crisis team on 0800 953 0110 or call 999.
