Public Space Protection Order

This consultation closed on 13 December and the results will now be used to review the current and proposed orders in place about where dogs are banned from and where they must be kept on a lead.  Thank you to everyone who took part in this consultation.

This consultation closed on 8 November 2019. Thank you to everybody who took part.

All comments received will be considered as we prepare our final recommendations. A final decision on how we spend CIL monies will be made by the Council’s Cabinet in early 2020.

Survey on Council Logo

The resident survey on the West Lancashire Borough Council logo closed on 7 November 2019.

We will consider all comments as part of our periodic review of the Council's corporate identity.

Licensing Policy

West Lancashire Borough Council invited local people and businesses to comment on its draft Licensing Policy. The Council wanted to hear people's views on its draft policy to ensure it reflected the opinions of residents and all businesses – not just licensed premises – within the Borough.

Complaints Process

West Lancashire Borough Council has recently reviewed the way complaints are handled.  The Council is always looking for ways to improve the services we provide our customers and recognises the importance of having the customer voice heard throughout.  The consultation closed on Monday 30 September 2019.

The results are now being used to review our current policy.

Ormskirk Town Centre: Public Realm Improvement Works

West Lancashire Borough Council is committed to helping Ormskirk town centre be the best it can be. As such the Council is considering the implementation of two public realm schemes that will have the potential to deliver significant benefits to the town centre. Enhancements at Moor Street and also Wheatsheaf Walk will provide a streetscape that will support local businesses and the growth of the market, create space for people to enjoy the town's heritage assets and conservation area and make the overall appearance of Ormskirk town centre more attractive. 

The consultation closed on Tuesday 27th August.

Customer Engagement Strategy

West Lancashire Borough Council is ambitious for West Lancashire, our Economy and Environment and for Health and Wellbeing across our local communities. The Customer Engagement Strategy will drive the delivery of these ambitions by establishing how the Council will be a listening and conversing organisation.

The Council will always look to improve and recognises the important role that our customers have in making changes and improvements to our services. We believe that by encouraging our customers to provide feedback, through a range of engagement opportunities, we are able to shape and improve our services by taking on board their views.

Leisure and Wellbeing Hubs - extended date for consultation 

West Lancashire Borough Council is proposing to build two new Leisure and Wellbeing Hubs in Skelmersdale and Ormskirk. These will replace Nye Bevan Pool and Park Pool and will offer an exciting range of new activities.

The consultation ended on 16 August 2019.

Planning Application Validation process

This consultation was to seek views on the proposed changes to update the criteria for the validation of planning applications.  The consultation closed on 12 July 2019 and comments received will now be reviewed and any changes to the checklist will be made and a revised version will be published on the Council website. 

Citizen Survey 2019

There has been a great response to this years survey which closed on 8 July 2019.  The results are now being collated by BMG research and a report will be produced with all the findings in Autumn.  This will be published on the Council website.  The results will also be used to identify any opportunities for service improvements across the Council.

Review of Polling Districts

The Council carried out consultation to review all polling districts and polling places across the Borough.  The feedback received will be reviewed in July and any changes decided will be come into place in December 2019.

Consultation on draft Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Policy

The Council has proposed to make several amendments to its Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Policy, which will change the requirements for licensed drivers and vehicles.
A consultation exercise has taken place from 20 December 2018 until the 14 March 2019 the views we received are being compiled and will be presented to the Council's Licensing and Appeals Committee.  Find out more on our Taxi Licensing Policy page.

Annual Report for tenants

Each year we publish an Annual Report for tenants to show what we've achieved over the previous 12 months and how we meet national standards.  We have recently asked our tenants what they think about the information and the format of this page.  We will use this information to shape hour report in 2019.   Please visit our Annual Report Page for more information.

Revised Gambling Policy: 2019 - 2022

The Council is required to review its Gambling Policy every three years.  Following consultation our new policy came into force in January 2019.  Find out more on our Statement of policy for gambling page.
