West Lancashire's biggest celebration of the countryside and countryside living returns on 22 & 23 July 2023. The Green Fayre is an annual celebration of all thing's countryside, heritage crafts, countryside living and promotes sustainability across the borough, with 1000's of visitors experiencing the event each year.

Held at Beacon Country Park in Upholland, this free two-day event will showcase an array of exciting shows and displays, highlighting the rich activities and heritage that the Lancashire countryside has to offer.

At the heart of the Green Fayre lies the working woodlands, where local artisans and craftsmen will give demonstrations of traditional and not-so-traditional skills and techniques including leather working, weaving, bodging, wheelwrighting, horse-logging, blacksmithing, and chainsaw carving. They will transform natural materials into products and goods that that we use in day-to-day life.

Meander through the Viking encampment and gain a deeper understanding of the daily lives led by the Vikings of yore. Brace yourself for an epic showdown in the show's arena as resident Vikings engage in a captivating battle – if you dare!

For animal lovers, the show will host a range of wildlife and animal welfare charities and organisations giving tips on how you can help look after animals both at home and in the wild, as well as demonstrating dog agility skills and the majesty of birds of prey.

Councillor Carl Coughlan, portfolio holder for Leisure is looking forward to the event: "The Green Fayre is renowned as one of the best celebrations of countryside living, offering a weekend brimming with entertainment, captivating displays and exhibitions."

"As the Council places significant emphasis on the green agenda, it is truly heartening to hear that exhibitors and stall holders have again committed to avoiding the use of single-use plastics, signifying a greener, brighter future for the show and demonstrates our commitment to sustainability."

As well as all the crafts and exhibits there is a full range of adventurous activities for you to try including a climbing wall, bungee trampoline, axe throwing, donkey rides and traditional fairground rides.
