Garden Waste Subscription Service gets boost with extra collections

West Lancashire Borough Council has approved an extension to its Garden Waste Subscription Service, providing residents with two additional fortnightly collections each year at no extra cost.

From February 2027, the service will increase from 40 weeks to 44 weeks annually, while the current subscription fee of £47.50 per bin will remain unchanged.

The Garden Waste Subscription Service helps residents dispose of and recycle garden waste responsibly while supporting the Council's wider environmental and recycling objectives.

The enhanced collections will provide more opportunities for residents to recycle garden waste during periods when leaves, hedge trimmings and other organic materials continue to accumulate, particularly towards the end of winter.
