Following West Lancashire Borough Council's Annual meeting, Councillor Janet Ingman has been appointed as the new Mayor of West Lancashire.
Mayor Ingman, Our West Lancashire Councillor for Ormskirk East, will represent the Borough at civic and community events while raising money for her chosen charities, Hope Street Café and Epilepsy Support. Her Mayoress for the year will be Kate Mitchell.

Mayor Ingman said: "It is both a proud moment and a great honour to serve the people of West Lancashire. Having been born here and having spent most of my life in the Borough, it means a great deal to represent the community that has shaped me. Kate Mitchell, my Mayoress has been a great source of encouragement as well as Father Godric who will be my Chaplain.
"There are so many amazing people in West Lancashire working hard for their friends, neighbours and communities every day and I'm looking forward to meeting and supporting as many of them as I can over the next year.
"In my role as Mayor, I am dedicated to supporting individuals, residents and businesses across West Lancashire, including fund raising for my chosen charities, Hope Street Café and Epilepsy Support.
"Finally, I would like to thank former Mayors Anne Fennell, Julian Finch and Gordon Johnson for their dedication and achievements. They have been a great source of inspiration to me, and I look forward to building on their work and serving the Borough to the very best of my ability.”
